Dr. Moder decided to join the world of hearing care because hearing health has such a deep impact on how people connect with the world around them. Helping someone feel more confident, engaged, and connected in their daily life is incredibly meaningful to her.
Dr. Moder was drawn to hearing healthcare because of the meaningful impact it has on people’s everyday lives. Helping someone reconnect with conversations, loved ones, and the sounds they’ve been missing is incredibly rewarding for her. Hearing is such a vital part of communication and quality of life, and she loves being able to make a difference in a very personal way.
Early on in her training, Dr. Moder worked with a patient who hadn’t realized how much hearing loss was affecting her relationships and day-to-day interactions. Seeing her reaction when she could hear more clearly—and the emotional relief that came with it—showed Dr. Moder how powerful hearing care can be and confirmed that she was in the right field.
Dr. Moder loves building relationships with patients and being part of their journey. Every patient’s needs and experiences are different, and she finds it rewarding to provide care that’s truly personalized and helps them reconnect with the people and moments that matter most.
She wishes more people understood that they hear not just with their ears but with their brains. She shares that seeking help sooner rather than later helps keep the brain engaged, supports cognition, and offers many benefits beyond just hearing better.
Dr. Moder is particularly passionate about exploring new hearing technologies and understanding what each manufacturer offers. She loves matching patients with solutions that truly fit their lifestyle and needs so they can get the most out of their hearing experience.
She helps patients choose what’s right for them by combining years of experience across different clinical settings with casual, open conversations about their daily lives. Dr. Moder always takes the time to understand her patients’ routines, listening environments, and the specific hearing challenges they face so that she can recommend solutions that truly fit their needs.
Dr. Moder's patients describe her as patient, attentive, and highly detail-oriented. She listens carefully to their concerns, tailors care to their individual needs, and ensures they feel supported and comfortable throughout every step of the process. She explains things in a clear, easy-to-understand way, encourages questions, and makes sure they never feel rushed.
It’s Dr. Moder's hope that every patient leaves feeling that she’s cared for them just like she would her own family – attentive, thoughtful, and fully present. Her goal is for them to feel genuinely supported, understood, and confident in the care they received. A genuine smile or a “thank you” from a patient always makes her day better – it’s a simple reminder of why she loves what she does.
Dr. Moder wants new patients to know that change can feel scary, but the Allison Audiology team has their best interests at heart and is here to support them every step of the way. From the moment they walk in, the goal is to make patients feel comfortable, listened to, and confident that solutions that truly meet their needs will be found. To Dr. Moder, excellent care means being able to adapt and tailor her approach to each patient’s individual needs while always showing empathy and compassion.
Several personal experiences with hearing loss have given Dr. Moder a deeper understanding of what patients go through. Her grandfather served in the Navy and had significant hearing loss as well as Ménière’s disease, which she saw affect not only him but her entire family.
Additionally, Dr. Moder's father experiences severe vertigo episodes, which have helped her understand how balance and hearing issues impact daily life. These experiences make her more empathetic and attentive to the challenges her patients face.
Most people are surprised to learn that Dr. Moder's journey has taken her through several different parts of the country. Eight years of school and traveling across multiple states to achieve her goals certainly tested Dr. Moder's patience. It taught her perseverance, adaptability, and the importance of staying focused on the bigger picture, even when the process is challenging.
She grew up and completed her undergraduate studies in Wisconsin and then moved to Florida for more schooling and to begin practicing audiology before eventually settling in Texas. She feels that living in different places has been a great experience and has helped shape who she is both personally and professionally.
When she’s not at work, Dr. Moder enjoys staying active through Pilates, exploring new restaurants, and spending quality time with friends and loved ones. She also enjoys being outside and taking her dog, Howard, for walks.
