Insurance coverage depends on the insurance carrier and the plan itself. While many of our patients do have hearing aid coverage, other patients with the same carrier may not. For example, just because one patient with BlueCross BlueShield has hearing aid coverage at 80%, another patient with a similar plan from the same insurance group may not. This variance in coverage is all dependent on the plan administrator, such as an employer or representative.

One employer may elect to offer coverage for medical equipment and services, but another may decline in order to make coverage more affordable for all. Because coverage is not uniform, it is important to verify and know your insurance benefits in order to fully understand what is available under your specific plan.

In Texas, this includes hearing devices in each ear, eligible for replacement every 36 months.
